"During lockdown, I spent most of my time alone in my studio, my wife got stuck in Uruguay and couldn’t get a flight back to Hawai’i for almost a year, so I read, listened to music and painted.

One day I found a song by Charly Garcia called “La Maquina de ser feliz” which means the Machine to make happiness, I started thinking about it more and more, especially in such a depressing time having such a machine would be unbelievable. Then I realized that I had a few of them, well maybe not machines, but they made me happy every time I used them. The surfboard has to be the closest thing as a happiness machine."
